A Fox and A Donkey
กาลครั้งหนึ่ง สุนัขจิ้งจอกกับลาเป็นเพื่อนรักกัน ออกหาอาหารร่วมกัน ปกป้องซึ่งกันและกัน วันหนึ่งพวกเขาออกไปในป่าเพื่อหาอาหารด้วยกัน พวกเขาไม่ได้ไปไกลนักก็ได้พบกับสิงโต
เมื่อสุนัขจิ้งจอกมองเห็นอันตราย จึงแอบเข้าไปหาสิงโตพร้อมกับสัญญาว่าจะจับตัวลามาให้หากสิงโตรับปากว่าจะไม่ทำร้ายสุนัขจิ้งจอก "ได้โปรดอย่ากินข้าเลย หากท่านปล่อยข้าไป ข้าจะพาเจ้าลาอ้วนมาให้ท่านกินเป็นอาหาร" เจ้าสุนัขจิ้งจอกพูด
สุนัขจิ้งจอกกลับไปลาพร้อมกับทำให้ลาเชื่อใจว่าจะไม่ได้รับอันตรายใดๆ หากไปกับมัน สุนัขจิ้งจอกพาลาไปที่หลุมลึกและผลักให้ลาตกลงไปในหลุม
เมื่อสิงโตเห็นว่าลานั้นอยู่ในหลุมแล้ว ก็จับสุนัขจิ้งจอกกินเป็นอาหารทันที ส่วนเจ้าลานั้นจะจับกินเมื่อใดก็ได้
เรื่องนี้สอนให้รู้ว่า : เพื่อนไม่ดีอาจนำพาเราไปสู่หายนะ
Once upon a time, a fox and the donkey who were close friends, having entered into partnership together for their mutual protection. One day, they went out into the forest to hunt. They had not gone far when they met a Lion.
The Fox, seeing the imminent danger, approached the Lion and promised to arrange the capture of the Donkey if the Lion would pledge his word not to harm the Fox. "Please don't eat me. If you let me go, I will bring a fat donkey to serve you as your meal." said the fox.
The Fox went back to the Donkey and, assuring him that he would not be hurt, the Fox led the Donkey to a deep pit and arranged that he should fall into it.
The Lion, seeing that the Donkey was secured, immediately grabbed the Fox, and attacked the Donkey at his leisure.
Moral of the story : A bad friend will lead one to doom.
