เช้าวันหนึ่ง ขณะที่แม่ไก่กำลังเดินคุ้ยเขี่ยหาอาหารที่ลานหน้าบ้านของชาวนาอยู่นั้นเอง มันก็เหลือบไปเห็นพลอยเม็ดงามเม็ดหนึ่งส่องประกายระยิบระยับอยู่บนพื้นดิน แม่ไก่ได้แต่คิดในใจว่า "ถ้าชาวนาได้มาพบพลอยเม็ดงามเม็ดนี้ เขาคงจะดีใจมาก แต่สำหรับเราแล้ว ข้าวเปลือก 1 เมล็ด ยังมีค่ากว่าพลอยเม็ดนี้ตั้งมากมาย" แล้วมันก็เดินผ่านพลอยเม็ดนั้นไป

เรื่องนี้สอนให้รู้ว่า : สิ่งที่มีค่าสำหรับบาง อาจไม่มีค่าเลยสำหรับอีกคน

One morning, a cock was busily scratching for food in font of a farmer's house. He unexpectedly a glittery jewel on the floor. He mumbled to himself  "If the farmer was the one who found this precious stone, he would be really happy. Well, it's nothing for me. I would rather have a tiny grain than this jewel." Then, the cock walk away and kept scratching for food.

Moral of the story : What is a treasure to one may be worthless to another.
